Filming for the highly anticipated second season of the Emmy-winning series “Fallout” is underway. Walton Goggins, the captivating star of the series who plays “The Ghoul,” has offered a tantalizing preview of what’s to come. Speaking at “The White Lotus” Season 3 premiere, Goggins couldn’t contain his enthusiasm for the upcoming season.
“We’re in the middle of filming it right now, we’ve been at it since November, and I can tell you that I thought season 1 was extraordinary, personally, I was very pleased with it,” Goggins shared with Deadline. “This blows it out of the water, what these writers have done and the artisans that have come together to tell this story. It’s really gonna be something. I can’t wait for people to see it. We’re working really hard to make that happen.”
Goggins’ portrayal of “The Ghoul,” a former film star turned bounty hunter, was a standout performance in the first season. His character embarked on a journey to uncover the truth about his family’s fate. Along the way, he forms a tense a partnership with Lucy MacLean.
While official plot details for Season 2 remain under wraps, some exciting casting news has been confirmed. Macaulay Culkin has joined the cast, and rumors suggest that Kumail Nanjiani will also star.
Ella Purnell and Aaron Moten return to reprise their roles in “Fallout” season 2. The cast also includes Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, Sarita Choudhury, Michael Emerson, Leslie Uggams, Frances Turner, Dave Register, Zach Cherry, Johnny Pemberton, and Rodrigo Luzzi.
Adding to the excitement, executive producer Jonathan Nolan has hinted at a grander scale for the second season.
“There are more monsters, more environments, more factions that we are currently designing and building right now to begin production quite soon,” Nolan revealed to The Wrap in 2024.
His comments suggest that Season 2 will significantly expand the world of “Fallout“, introducing new creatures, locations, and groups vying for power in the post-apocalyptic landscape. With Goggins’ effusive praise and Nolan’s teases of a bigger and better season, anticipation for “Fallout” Season 2 is reaching fever pitch.
Season one saw 65 million tune in for one of the best series based on a game ever. It took home an Emmy, won multiple other awards, and was nominated for another 73.
