Peacock has released the gripping trailer for “Long Bright River,” a new limited series that sees Emmy Award-winner Amanda Seyfried as a patrol cop on a desperate hunt for a killer behind a series of brutal murders.
Based on Liz Moore’s acclaimed novel, “Long Bright River” also stars Nicholas Pinnock (Django) and Ashleigh Cummings (Hounds of Love). Callum Vinson (Coup!) and John Doman (“Borgia”) co-star. Recurring guest stars include Dash Mihok and Britne Oldford. Matthew Del Negro and Harriet Sansom Harris also appear. Patch Darragh and Perry Mattfeld round out the cast.
The trailer reveals the mysterious deaths of three women. Seyfried’s Mickey is determined to find the killer. However, her not being a detective, only a beat cop, complicates things. However, it’s not long until Mickey realizes her past may be connected to the case.
“Long Bright River” delves into Mickey’s struggles and intertwines them with the chilling murder investigation. The series explores themes of family and addiction and examines the impact of crime on a community. Seyfried delivers a powerful performance, Portraying a woman driven by a need for justice. The trailer creates a sense of tension and mystery, drawing viewers into the dark world of the series.
Nikki Toscano (“The Offer”) is the showrunner and director. She also wrote and executive produced the series. Author Liz Moore also executive produced. Seyfried is also an executive producer. Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty also produced. Amanda Lewis, Amy Pascal, and Russell Rothberg are also producers.
