Hedra steals Allison’s identity and displays increasingly violent behavior. The 1992 film earned $48 million domestically, solidifying its place in the psychological thriller genre. A direct-to-video sequel followed in 2005.
Ortega is known for her performance in Netflix’s “Wednesday,” which is getting a new season. She also stars in A24’s Death of a Unicorn and the suspense thriller Hurry Up Tomorrow.
Russell gained critical acclaim for her performance in Waves. She also starred in Bones and All alongside Timothée Chalamet and will appear in Hope and the Thomas Crown Affair reboot.
A director has not yet joined the project, and details about the screenplay remain unknown. However, Jeff Sneider suggests production could begin next year. However, production will work around Ortega and Russell’s schedules. 3000 Pictures, under Elizabeth Gabler, will produce the film with Sony.
