Let’s talk about In the Lost Lands, the new dark fantasy flick that lands on digital this month. Vertical Entertainment is bringing us this one, and it’s got some serious star power. We’re talking Dave Bautista and Milla Jovovich, which already sounds like a wild ride.

A Mission

So, the story’s based on a short story by George R.R. Martin, the “Game of Thrones” guy. That alone should tell you we’re in for something a little twisted. Jovovich plays Gray Alys, a powerful sorceress sent on a mission by a queen—classic fantasy setup, right? But here’s where it gets interesting: she’s heading into the Lost Lands, which isn’t your typical medieval forest. We’re talking post-apocalyptic vibes, which adds a whole other layer to the adventure.

And who’s guiding her through this crazy landscape? None other than Dave Bautista, playing a drifter named Boyce. These two have to team up and navigate some seriously treacherous terrain, facing off against all sorts of human and demonic dangers.

A Talented Director and Cast

Now, let’s talk about the team behind the camera. Paul W.S. Anderson, who brought us Event Horizon, Death Race, and Monster Hunter, is directing. He’s also reuniting with Jovovich, who has worked on the Resident Evil and Monster Hunter films. Bautista, of course, is a familiar face from the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. The rest of the cast includes Arly Jover, Amara Okereke, Fraser James, and Deirdre Mullins.

Coming to Digital

In the Lost Lands looks like it’s aiming for a blend of classic fantasy adventure with a darker, more modern edge. You have a compelling premise, a solid cast, and a director who can deliver action. If you’re into dark fantasy, or just want to see Bautista and Jovovich kicking butt, this movie is worth checking out when it lands on digital on April 8.
