In 2023, we were shouting from rooftops that writer-director Jalmari Helander‘s Sisu was the best movie of the year, calling it “fu*cking fantastic,” a glorious, over-the-top Nazi-slaying masterpiece. Well, get ready. News has just dropped that it’s officially getting a sequel, and we are SO here for it! And hold onto your hats because the best part is that it’s slated to explode onto screens this year!

While specific plot details are still tightly under wraps, the news is enough to get adrenaline pumping. The original Sisu, with its simple yet incredibly effective premise of a grizzled prospector defending his hard-earned gold against brutal SS officers in the dying days of WWII, was a bloody, brilliant addition to the action genre. Its relentless pacing, creative kills, and the sheer badassery of Jorma Tommila‘s performance made it an instant “must-see.”

It’s already been confirmed that Jorma Tommila will return to reprise his iconic role! And he’s not alone; two horror legends, Richard Brake (31, Hannibal Rising) and Stephen Lang (Don’t Breathe), have joined the cast.

When Sisu was released, I had the pleasure of interviewing writer-director Jalmari Helander about how amazing the movie is. He spoke on the making of the film, the challenges, and so much more. It’s definitely worth checking out.

Experience the sheer, unadulterated joy of watching a seemingly unstoppable force of nature tear through Nazi soldiers. You owe it to yourself to check out Sisu before the sequel drops. Word on the street is to keep your eyes peeled for a potential release in November 2025. Watch the original film now on Starz, Roku, and Prime Video.
