A new TV series that flips the undead genre on its head is coming! Prepare for “Revival,” a gripping scripted original series set to premiere on SYFY this June. This isn’t your typical undead apocalypse. “Revival” introduces a bizarre and miraculous event in rural Wisconsin where the recently deceased rise from their graves, appearing and acting exactly as they did in life.
The Dead Rise
This throws the small town into utter chaos and confusion. When local police officer and single mother, Dana Cypress, unexpectedly finds herself at the center of a murder mystery, she’s thrust into the impossible task of making sense of this unprecedented situation.
An Impressive Cast and Crew
“Revival” is based on the critically acclaimed and best-selling Image Comics series of the same name. It was created by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton. This pedigree ensures a rich and compelling narrative with a strong foundation in character development and intricate world-building.
Melanie Scrofano finds herself locked and loaded for the new series after playing gunslinger Wynonna Earp in the long-running series. She has also starred in movies like Ready or Not and Saw VI, adding to her horror pedigree. Now, she takes on the role of Officer Dana Cypress.
Romy Weltman, David James Elliott, and Andy McQueen join Scrofano. A talented roster of recurring guest stars adds intrigue to the series. Watch for Steven Ogg, Phil Brooks (also known as CM Punk), Gia Sandhu, Katherine King So, Maia Jae, and Nathan Dales. Mark Little, Glen Gould, Lara Jean Chorostecki, and Conrad Coates also bring their unique talents to the unsettling world of “Revival.”
The series is brought to the screen by Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce, who serve as showrunners and executive producers. They are joined by a dedicated team of executive producers, including Lance Samuels, Daniel Iron, Samantha Levine, Neil Tabatznik, Daniel March, Melanie Scrofano herself, Greg Hemmings, Stephen Foster, and Amanda Row. “Revival” is produced by Blue Ice Pictures and Hemmings Films, known for their commitment to quality storytelling.
