Alright, horror hounds and comedy creeps, get ready for a slice of spooky fun with a twist of awkward! The first teaser trailer just dropped for Half-O-Ween, a new short film that sounds like a blend of post-breakup blues and neighborhood-stalking terror.

Fresh off a messy breakup, a couple finds themselves in the ultimate awkward situation – trapped inside their place with their oh-so-intrusive landlords. And if that wasn’t uncomfortable enough, there’s also an escaped serial killer lurking around the neighborhood. Talk about a bad night!

Behind this frightfully fun project are Hawthorne House Films and Barton Ct. Productions are bringing us a slasher with a unique comedic edge. Director Stephen Wolfe (Doll Factory) is at the helm, with the screenplay penned by Mike McPherson (10/31 Part 2). Tim Robinson (Dracula’s Coffin) and P.J. Starks (New Fears Eve, 13 Slays Till X-Mas) produce. And for all you gorehounds out there, the special effects will be handled by the talented team at Little Shop of Gore FX, Ryan and Salina Ward, who also worked on Terrifier 3.

The filmmakers describe Half-O-Ween as a blend of humor and the bloody kills you’d expect from the Halloween franchise. Cam White leads the charge.

The cast is shaping up to be a thrilling mix of familiar and fresh faces, including Lestonja Diaz, Tim Robinson (10/31 Part 2), and Sara Gaston (“To Catch a Killer”). That cast also includes Joe Grisaffi (“Stranger Things”) and Xavier Flores (Doll Factory) as the crazed maniac himself, Eddie Mangas.

With its blend of messy breakup awkwardness, nosy landlords, a lurking serial killer, and promises of “Halloween”-esque kills, Half-O-Ween sounds like a short film that will deliver an entertaining dose of horror comedy. Watch for more news as it heads into production this summer—this is one awkward and bloody house party you won’t want to miss!
