Looks like the “Ghost with the Most” is ready for a third act! Following the spectral success of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which absolutely crushed it at the box office with a massive $451 million worldwide ($111 million domestic opening). The bigwigs at Warner Bros. have officially said his name again… for a third time!
Beetlejuice is Back in Action
The studio’s co-chairmen/CEOs, Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy, confirmed in April 2025 that Beetlejuice 3 is officially in development. While the ink might not be dry on all the deals just yet, they’re actively moving forward with bringing more manic energy from Michael Keaton and further gothic adventures for the Deetz family.
The second movie’s title, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, pretty much gave away there would be a sequel, and we’re betting it’ll be titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. After all, that’s how you call him.
When Will it Arrive?
So, when might we be saying his name thrice in theaters? It’s still early days, with the project just entering development, so there’s no official release date just yet. Alternatively, Warner Bros. could play the long game and aim for 2028, which marks the 40th anniversary of the original Beetlejuice. Dropping Beetlejuice 3 then could be a fittingly spooky tribute.
Who will Return?
The Deetz family is the heart of this spooky saga. We’re all but guaranteed to see Winona Ryder return as Lydia Deetz and Jenna Ortega as her daughter, Astrid.
