If you’re a fan of “slow-burn” scares and the dark side of social media, mark your calendars for March 8. Cinema Epoch just announced that the horror thriller Kat Crimes: Tales of the Occult. The best part? It officially debuts on the free streaming service Tubi.

Written and directed by Jerry Artukovich (the man behind The Golden Bachelorette), the film is a cautionary tale about what happens when “clout chasing” goes horribly wrong.

Ambition Meets the Occult

The plot follows an aspiring true-crime YouTuber who thinks she’s finally hit the jackpot. She lands exclusive access to a reclusive witch coven to investigate a disappearance linked to the occult.

However, her “big break” quickly turns into a nightmare. The film digs deep into two very modern obsessions: the desperate hunger for online fame and the danger of believing you’re finally getting the opportunity you deserve.

As her ambition collides with ancient rituals, the line between digital storytelling and actual manipulation blurs, leading to a full psychological tailspin.

The Team Behind the Screams

The film features a solid ensemble of familiar faces. Christina Colgan stars alongside Kyla Nova (Grey’s Anatomy), Brady Reiter (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Cameron Meyer, and Trevor Stines. It’s produced by a veteran team including Artukovich, Scott Hamm, Duenas, and Kipp Tribble.

What Critics are Saying

Early buzz suggests this isn’t your typical jump-scare fest. CineDump called it “a sharp, eerie little thriller” that manages to be both “atmospheric” and “unsettling.” It reportedly builds tension through quiet, loaded conversations before shifting into a full-blown ritualistic nightmare.
