The Twisted Childhood Universe expands today as Pinocchio: Unstrung officially out on Digital and DVD. The film makes its home release following its premiere at the Raindance Film Festival and its theatrical run.

The plot follows Geppetto, played by veteran actor Richard Brake, as he presents a hand-carved wooden doll to his grandson. Unaware of the tragic fate that usually follows mysterious heirlooms, the young boy introduces his new companion to the human world. The innocent gesture triggers a lethal chain reaction when Pinocchio determines that the most effective way to become a “good boy” is to eradicate anyone he deems “bad violently.
Iconic Horror Talent Behind the Madness
Adding a legendary voice to the carnage, horror icon Robert Englund stars as a demonic iteration of the conscience-guiding cricket. Casting the former Freddy Krueger performer to direct a killer puppet’s moral compass delivers an extra layer of dark satire. It anchors a spectacle packed with visceral practical effects and pitch-black humor.
