Billy Milligan…And 24 Others – The True Story That Inspired “Split”

Night Shyamalan movies have frankly been a little flat lately. He had some great films with Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and a smattering of others (Check out his 2010 film Devil) but for the most part in his recent history it has been flub after flub. However, I am extremely intrigued and interested in his new movie Split which is about a man navigating through a life of 23 multiple personalities. This film is loosely based on the life of William (Billy) Stanley Milligan who was also an influence for the 1996 thriller Primal Fear. Mulligan is the first person to be acquitted of multiple major crimes by claiming that his other personalities – and therefore, other people – committed the crimes. Billy Milligan was born in 1955 in Ohio to Dorothy Milligan and Johnny Morrison. The unwed couple had three children and did not create a good environment for their little family. ‘Spartacus’ Star Liam McIntyre Joins SyFy’s Upcoming Series ‘That Haunted’

The Syfy channel has had great run over the past couple of years when it comes to series, with shows like ‘The Magicians‘, ‘Channel Zero‘. Their upcoming series ‘The Haunted‘ will no doubt be a great addition to their lineup. The series, written by ‘The Magicians’ scribe Noga Landau, centers on four adult siblings who are reunited after their parents’ death. Together they must over come their fractured relationships to survive ghosts from their pasts, literally. ‘Spartacus’ star Liam McIntyre has joined the cast of ‘The Haunted’ and will play the role of Reece Mason, a handsome, tough, determined detective of the Savannah Police Department. While he comes across as a charming Southern gentleman, he is not one to be trifled with. McIntyre will co-star as series regular alongside Vaughn Nixon, Steve Kazee, Elizabeth Cappuccino, David Alpay, and Lyndsy Fonseca. James Frey and Todd Cohen of Full Fathom Five will execute produce alongside Landau for Universal Cable Productions.

The Women In Horror Film Festival Now Accepting Submissions

The Women in Horror Film Festival will be taking place September 21-24 and will feature films, guests, vendors, events and more. The festival is currently open for submissions and seeking terrifying films both full length and short. Winners even have a shot of having their film chosen for distribution by Terror Films. The Grossest Movie Ever Made? ‘Kuso’ Made Viewers To Flee At Sundance

There have been few horror films in the past decade that have caused viewers to abandon theaters in disgust. ‘Kuso’, which premiered at Sundance, did just that. The film, from deejay-turned-director Steven Ellison (aka Flying Lotus), is being hailed as the “grossest movie ever”. It only took “10 minutes of boil-bursting, pus-oozing revulsion,” for viewers to begin leaving, Variety reports. I’ll start with the footage of an erect penis being stabbed. As with most footage of an erect penis being violently gored by a long steel rod, it’s certainly unexpected. A large chunk of the audience left my screening early, when a boil-covered woman choked a man with a strap until he covered half her face with semen that looked like a muted version of Nickelodeon slime.” The Verge reported. “But the walk-outs continued in a consistent stream up to the final scene. Friday The 13th Sequel Set to Begin Filming

After a long period of silence, we finally have an update on the highly-anticipated ‘Friday the 13th’ sequel. The sequel is now casting and is set to begin filming this spring in Conyers, Georgia under the direction of Breck Eisner (The Crazies), from the script penned by Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners), FridayThe13thFranchise.com is reporting. “The reason that the production in Conyers is interesting is that Platinum Dunes is scheduled for shooting in that town starting in March and lasting through to May. That leads us to believe a good majority of filming should take place in that area. Another interesting bit of information about Conyers is that it is just under 12 miles away from Covington, Georgia, where Jason Lives: Friday The 13th Part VI was filmed!” The film has been described as an origin story by Brad Fuller and Andrew Form who are producing for Platinum Dunes. Stranger Thing’s Millie Brown Joins Godzilla: King Of The Monsters

Photo Credit: ABC News Last week reported that Michael Dougherty (Trick r’ Treat, Krampus) will be directing ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters‘, which he co-wrote with Zach Shields. Today, we have casting news. Legendary has announced that ‘Stranger Things’ actress Millie Bobby Brown has signed on to star in the sequel to to 2014’s ‘Godzilla’ film. Brown, a very talented young actress, has been nominated for both a People’s Choice Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her role as “Eleven” in the hit Netflix series that is now gearing up for its second season. The plot for the sequel has not been revealed, but we do know that it is part of Legendary and Warner Bros. new monster universe that includes ‘Kong: Skull Island‘, arriving in theaters March 10th. ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ is set to arrive in theaters on March 22, 2019, followed by ‘Godzilla vs King Kong’, to be released on May 29, 2020.

Patient Zero Killed Again

The pandemic film ‘Patient Zero’, originally set for release on September 2, 2016 then rescheduled for February 17, 2017, has been pulled from release by Screen Gems AGAIN. No new date has been announced at this point. We are beginning to wonder if we will see it at all. Directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky, ‘Patient Zero’ stars Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games), Agyness Deyn (Clash of the Titans), ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Natalie Dormer and John Bradley. In the film an unprecedented global pandemic of a super strain of rabies has turned the majority of the world’s population into highly intelligent, streamlined killer known as “The Infected”. One victim, Morgan (Matt Smith), who is asymptomatic and can communicate with the infected, leads the last survivors on a hunt for Patient Zero and a cure for the outbreak.

John Portanova Talks Filmmaking, Sasquatch, And His Movie Hunting Grounds

John Portanova is making his feature directorial debut with ‘Hunting Grounds’ (previously titled Valley of the Sasquatch), a film about family, desperation, and deadly beasts. Pilot Ordered For The Vampire Series ‘The Passage’ By Fox

Fox has ordered the pilot for the series adaption of Justin Cronin’s post-apocalyptic vampire series ‘The Passage’, from executive producer Ridley Scott, EW reports. Synopsis: The post-apocalypse story follows a botched U.S. government experiment that turns a group of death row inmates into highly infectious vampires, and an orphan girl who might be the only person able to stop the ensuing crisis. Stephen King once called the novel trilogy the series is upon, “One of the great achievements in American fantasy fiction”. We will keep you posted as we learn more about ‘The Passage’.
