I don’t know about you but where I live there’s a chill in the air with a hint of autumn in it, and Early Morning Studio was awesome enough to offer me a chance to make the season feel more like Halloween with their gothic RPG Vampire’s Fall: Origins.

In Vampire’s Fall: Origins play as a customized character that you can name, who becomes a vampire after failing to fight the dreaded Witchmaster who has raised an army and terrorizing the land. Now on a quest of vengeance, your character must get stronger as they travel the land with the goal to bring down the Witchmaster and avenging the carnage done to your village.

Now onto the game itself! Controls are pretty simple with no need to memorize them as they are always labeled on the screen when you’re exploring and engaging in combat. When it comes to graphics, it’s reminiscent of a flash game but it renders well on console. The art looks hand drawn which is a nice touch as it matches this game’s style.

The overall gameplay is surprisingly relaxing, with the easily mapped (and shown) controls, and the game paced out to how you want to play, it’s just enjoyable and makes you feel like you don’t have to rush to complete the game but just take your time with it and take it in.

The only real negative things I found with Vampire’s Fall: Origins is the lack of customizations for your character at the start of the game even though you can find merchants that you can buy more options from them, but at the start, we really could have used a lot more in order to make our character our own.

Overall Vampire’s Fall: Origins is a pleasant RPG anyone can pick up, play, and master on their first try or to play for a while, put down, and pick back up again at a later date. With it’s no rush tone, simple graphics, and tone, these all help rank the game high but the lack of customization, unoriginal story, and droning soundtrack slightly hurt the final score on my scale of 10. In the end Vampire’s Fall: Origin is an 8/10.
