“In 1816 Pretty Lavinia
was who was no lady,
did the Devil’s work
in a tavern just north of
Charles town”

Journey back to ye old times for this goth group American Murder Song. The group that flaunts there love for the old days in nearly every song they release. The group consist of 2 singers dubbed Saar Hendelman and Terrance Zdunich (Repo! The Genetic Opera, Devil’s Carnaval) and it basically triumphs to put you into a time warp back to the 1800’s. Which frankly judging by their most recent video drop looks kinda cool to do for a day.  Murder Song has been featuring their music on YouTube now for like three months and each song since tells a story of which is mostly if not always pretty gothic.

They’ve currently just celebrated their second EP release and dropped a brand new music video for their song The Six-Mile Inn. Which is based off of the historical Six Mile Inn, owned in the past by history’s first documented female serial killer, Pretty Lavinia Fisher.

Joining Terrance and Saar in “The Six-Mile Inn are Sara “Chibi” Taylor (THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE -Gothic Rock Band) as “Sweet Rosalie, an escaped mental patient who leaves a trail of dead in her wake, gothic personality”, Aurelio Voltaire as “Unwed Henry, a seductive, drunkard wife killer” and Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY- Death Metal Band) as “the infamous Pretty Lavinia”.

From the press release:

Cult film composers Terrance Zdunich and Saar Hendelman are no strangers to creating dark, visual worlds with music. They tackled industrial opera with 2008’s REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA, sideshow cabaret with 2012’s THE DEVIL’S CARNIVAL, celestial big band in 2015’s ALLELUIA! THE DEVIL’S CARNIVAL, and are now exploring the murder ballads genre in their historical film/concept-album project, AMERICAN MURDER SONG.

……..

On AMERICAN MURDER SONG’s first EP, I. DAWN, they led listeners through a series of bloody tales of killer young’uns and a new America pushing west and with their new EP, II. PROVIDENCE, the genre-defying duo invite audiences to go back in time to 1816 and visit the watering hole that served as the hunting grounds for America’s first purported female serial killer.

I. Dawn and II. Providence are currently up for sale on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and AmericanMurderSong.com. The EP’s first single Sweet Rosalie can be downloaded today or pick it up with every order of II. Providence.
