It has been 10 years since we met a new horror icon in ‘Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon’. The film developed quite a following.
Back in 2012 director Scott Glosserman attempted to crowd fund a sequel with a script by David Stieve, who also penned the first film, but the film just didn’t come together. It seemed that we had seen the last of Leslie Vernon.
After several years of silence the official Facebook page for the film, sprang back to life with a mysterious post: “It’s about time to dust this old thing off…2017 seems like a good year.” Soon Nathan Baesal, the actor who played Leslie Vernon, shared the post with a message of his own: “Maybe something good will come out of 2017 yet.” While there is no official news about a sequel, it does at least sound like something is in the works.
In the first film we witnessed a film crew be granted exclusive access to a killer’s life as he plans his reign of terror in the sleepy town of Glen Echo.
Baesal starred alongside Robert Englund, Scott Wilson, Zelda Rubinstein, Angela Goethals, Bridgett Newton, Kate Miner, Ben Pace and Britain Spellings in ‘Behind the Mask’.
