Karen Skloss’ supernatural horror film, The Honor Farm, which premiered at SXSW, is currently making its rounds at film festivals across the country. It will be making its next stop at The Magnolia Theater in Dallas, Texas on April 4th and 5th.
Olivia Applegate, Liam Aiken, Louis Hunter, Dora Madison, Katie Folger, Michael Eric Reid, Mackenzie Astin, Michelle Forbes, Christina Parrish, and Josephine McAdam star in this film about a prom night gone horribly wrong.
When Lucy’s prom night falls apart, she finds herself jumping into a hearse headed for a psychedelic party in the woods. Looking for a thrill, the party wanders deeper into the forest, to a haunted and abandoned prison work farm. A secret wish and a summoning of the dead sends the group on a mind-bending trip into a dangerous trap.
Skloss set out on a mission to portray today’s modern day teens as realistically as possible. How did she do it? She did something few filmmakers have to insure that the characters were right, she hired her teenage daughter as her expert. Jay Tonne Jr. co-wrote the script along with Skloss.
