There are a lot of projects that come to Horrorfuel.  Some look really cool and exciting and the odd one looks a little…not quite as exciting.  However, there is no exaggeration in my extreme interest and excitement for ‘Something’s Awry Productions’ short films that I was just lucky enough to watch the trailers for.

I have to admit, I was hooked with the opening tag and loved every second of the trailer.  My only wish is that I could have watched the entire films!  Luckily, you get that chance!

Provo, UT, September 7, 2017 – Something’s Awry Productions will screen two animated shorts, ‘MARY & MARSHA IN THE MANOR OF MADNESS’ and ‘THE GIFT OF THE WOODS’, at the FilmQuest Film Festival on Friday September 15th.  Lead by their producer (and mother) Amy Theorin, creative team of Kris and Kurtis are also Nominated for Best Animated Film with MARY & MARSHA.

FilmQuest attendees can see both films at 12:00 AM in the Covey Center for the Arts, Downtown Provo as part of the Midnight Madness!!! – Shorts Block #10. Tickets can be purchased at: https://bit.ly/sapfilmquest

Founded by Amy Theorin and her three sons Kris(24), Kurtis(20) and Nik(20), Something’s Awry Productions conceives and creates attention-getting short form video content including stop-motion, 2D, 3D and traditional animation and well as live-action cinematography. Something’s Awry creates engaging, sticky content that amplifies brand recognition and ROI. Current and past clients include international brands like Mattel, LEGO, Warner Bros. and Zing Toys.

‘MARY & MARSHA IN THE MANOR OF MADNESS’ combines the creeping horror of H.P. Lovecraft with the wacky action of classic Saturday morning cartoons. The short follows Mary as she helps her girlfriend Marsha escape from her disapproving parent’s gothic mansion. They navigate their way through adorably terrifying monsters and other dangers.

Written by Kurtis and directed & animated by Kris, ‘THE GIFT OF THE WOODS’ is a beautifully macabre modern-day folk tale that offers an age-old lesson – never go in the woods alone!

With this talented family doing the writing, directing, drawing, music and everything else, I can’t wait to see the full videos and to see what’s next!
