What could be described as a lovechild between Outlast 2, Firewatch, Resident Evil 7, and Vanishing of Ethan Carter; comes a whole new psychological-horror adventure game, Someday You’ll Return. The game comes from the 2-man indie developer team out of Brno, CBE Software.

This first-person experience follows Daniel as he searches the Moravian forests for his runaway daughter Stela. It’s a mystery as to why Stela chose these woods that Daniel swore he would never return to, which adds to the mystery of WHY does he not want to go back there. Daniel will encounter locals and supernatural forces that will help fill in the blanks of his past and answer why Stela is always running away from home.

The game is horror but has a strong narrative-driven exploration element as the open world (a forest) is full of trails that can be explored using Daniel’s tracking skills and rock-climbing ability. There’s also a crafting mechanic where you can create items that can be used. The forest environment will provide plants and mushrooms that can be crafted for health items.

Daniel has a Smartphone that can be used to contact people and send text messages, while in dark places you can even use the flashlight on it to see which will come in handy for the day/night cycle that’s featured in the game. There will be a Karmic system where your decisions can impact how the story unfolds…and ends. There’s no combat in the game so stealth is your ally.

Someday You’ll Return will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows fall of 2019.
