The 15-man team made up of AAA gaming veterans make up Cold Symmetry, and to make their mark on the gaming world they wasted no time and went right for the throat with their upcoming Souls-like flagship game, Mortal Shell.
Souls games are a genre of games that are inspired by or a lot like the games in the “Dark Souls” game series where players earn points (souls) by killing enemies and can lose all of them if defeated in which these games are known to being very taxing. Souls games are also known for the unique combat system where dodging, and parrying attacks are just as important, if not more important, than attacks.
Players take on the role of an empty vessel who is summoned by the “Dark Father” to retrieve glands from your fallen foes. To do so, the vessel must take on a “shell” (the remains of a fallen warrior) and harness their skills to fight the monstrosities the stalk this dark world you find yourself in. Each shell has its own abilities and unlocks upgrades to make your weapons and arcane abilities stronger!
Mortal Shell will be coming out Q3 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
