Today CAPCOM announced more details for the upcoming continuation of the first-person experience in the “Resident Evil” game series, Resident Evil: Village confirming that this is in fact the eighth entry in the main game series as it’s also being called Resident Evil 8. Along with the news comes a new trailer, details, and of course a release date!

Players will be playing again as Ethan, the main protagonist from Resident Evil 7. Life for Ethan was getting back on track until Chris Redfield returned and took something precious from him, forcing Ethan to go to Europe where a large mysterious village awaits along with the horrors within.

The game will have multiple antagonists, the main being Lady Dimitrescu, a tall woman (and boy I mean tall!) and her daughters who have the ability to change into a swarm of insects. A new character will be introduced and will be doing something that RE fans have missed, The Duke who buys and sells items to Ethan such as ammo, health, and blueprints that will allow Ethan to craft items for himself!

Combat in the game will now feature a guard and kick option which will allow Ethan to defend himself or knock enemies back. Since there are different enemy types in this game there will be different tactics you will have to use to fight them!

Resident Evil: Village will be coming on May 7th, 2021 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. The game will also be available for Xbox One, and Playstation 4!
