AMC is working on expanding its Walking Dead universe as much as possible and is preparing many spinoffs for when the main series ends. One of these is Tales of the Walking Dead, which is set to be an anthology focusing on different characters in each episode. This deviates from the usual model, but it could serve to flesh out characters and tease future storylines.

Could it Explore Different States?

The Walking Dead franchise is already doing what it can to appeal to people from a diverse range of geographical locations, and this could set up potential visits to different states or even other countries in future spinoffs.

AMC officially licensed numerous games to spread the word about the series, and all these offerings have been well-received by players all over the world. Most recently, players have had the option of the mobile augmented reality offering, The Walking Dead: Our World, or the official Walking Dead slot game from Playtech.

The latter title is particularly noteworthy as it is available to play at 888casino. The significance of this is that the site is considered a top online casino in NJ, among a great deal of choices in the state. So, how does this link to the main series? Well, keen Walking Dead fans remember Michonne found a note in the season 10 episode, What We Become. This suggested that Rick could be holed up in New Jersey, meaning that the state could be a future filming location for the series.

To set up the return of Rick to the franchise, Tales of the Walking Dead could feature a character within NJ in one of its episodes. This could lead to clues about the great sheriff’s whereabouts. Of course, this is pure speculation at the moment, but it would be fantastic to see the franchise expand into the northern territories of the USA in the future.

Series Could Hop Between Timelines

The intriguing thing about Tales of the Walking Dead is that it won’t follow the same linear format of the previous shows in the franchise. This means that the writers will be free to hop about between different phases of the timeline. Many viewers feel that the late stage of the virus in which other human factions are the main threat to the protagonists has been overdone, and would like to see the beginning of the zombie outbreak in more detail.

This is something that could be achieved by developing the backstories of some of the most popular characters. Something that people have been crying out for is an episode that dives into Daryl Dixon’s history in greater detail. Despite being a fan favorite, Norman Reedus’s character is not quite as fleshed out as some fans would like.

AMC has already confirmed that several well-regarded actors will appear in Tales of the Walking Dead. These include Terry Crews, Parker Posey, and Jillian Bell. With big names like these, it’s clear that the new series has great potential. It should satisfy Walking Dead fans as it may fill in gaps that are calling out for more detail.
