As a gaming journalist, it’s one thing to have opportunities to review games; it’s another to have the chance to preview a game. That’s what the awesome folks at SODESCO have done for yours truly! They were generous enough to allow me to get a first look at their upcoming horror title, Dollhouse: The Broken Mirror. Note, that this is a preview, not a review. Though I have my thoughts after playing, I’ll keep them to myself.

Dollhouse: The Broken Mirror tells the story of Eliza de Moor, a singer who while in the middle of a performance collapsed and was in and out of a coma-like state for a while, during this time she had a new drug tested on her. This drug can help her not fall back into her coma and lose her memories, the catch is, that the line between real and reality is blurred, and she must confront her past by going back to her childhood home.

The game is in the first-person perspective. As you traverse the village and mansion you’ll encounter puzzles, which exploration is a must in this as you’ll find solutions hidden around. There are crafting mechanics and an inventory system so you’ll have to watch the space you have. There is combat where you can choose if you would like to aim-assist or not. As mentioned before, exploration is a must if you wish to understand fully what’s going on with Eliza’s past, which is shrouded in mystery.

As mentioned, this is a preview so I have no final thoughts on the game but I will say the story is fascinating if you’re a lore junkie like me.

Dollhouse: The Broken Mirror comes out March 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
