FilmQuest has so many incredible short films selected for this year’s edition that I have some more recommendations for you beyond our first installment

FilmQuest, one of the largest and fastest growing genre film festivals in the world celebrating the very best in sci-fi, fantasy, horror and the beyond, takes place October 23 – November 1 in Downtown Provo, Utah. Along with the fine feature film fare on tap is a treasure chest of short films and music videos, as well as an unproduced screenplay competition. Housewife

Synopsis: When a woman accidentally cuts herself on her forgotten dollhouse, she’ll unwittingly awaken Housewife, a primordial monster with strange ideas about how to care for her children. Based on the character created by Miranda Parkin.

Synopsis: In the XIX Century there’s a music school where it’s always dark . . .

 

 

The Hand of Darkness

Synopsis: In 1978, Astoria, Oregon, newcomer Alice Mitchell becomes the target of an otherworldly entity, hell-bent on consuming her soul to regain its former power.

 

 

 

The Sequence

Synopsis: After a terrifying and deeply disturbing nightmare, stay-at-home mom Taylor (Katie Parker) wakes in a panic, convinced that the horrific events she dreamed about must never come to pass. As moving day approaches, rising tension with her husband Thomas (Andrew Pifko) and son Mike (Braxton Alexander) only fuels her growing fear, and when eerie details from her nightmare begin to manifest in reality, Taylor becomes desperate to alter the course of events before her worst fears come true.
