After nearly four decades, “The Ghost with the Most” is back! Tim Burton’s iconic masterpiece, Beetlejuice, is returning to the big screen with a brand new sequel—Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. The first trailer has arrived as if someone had said his name three times.

A Spooky Teaser Ignites Excitement

Warner Bros. has unveiled a tantalizing teaser trailer! It’s short but potent enough to stir excitement for a return to the wacky and macabre Netherworld. One thing’s for sure: “The juice is loose!”

A Multigenerational Mayhem Ensues

The official synopsis introduces us to the Deetz family, spanning three generations. Following a tragedy, they return to their ancestral home in Winter River, a place still haunted by the mischievous Beetlejuice. Lydia Deetz, now a grown woman, grapples with the return of the afterlife portal and the rebellious spirit of her teenage daughter, Astrid. As chaos brews in both the mortal realm and the Netherworld, it’s only a matter of time before Beetlejuice’s name is uttered thrice, unleashing his signature brand of mayhem.

A Return to Practical Magic

This sequel promises a trip down memory lane for fans of the original. Director Tim Burton is committed to capturing the handcrafted charm of the 1980s. He prioritizes practical effects and classic stop-motion animation over CGI. Michael Keaton, reprising his role as Beetlejuice, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing his desire to avoid an overreliance on technology.

A Star-Studded Cast Haunts the Screen

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice boasts an impressive cast. Keaton and Winona Ryder return to their iconic roles, joined by newcomers Jenna Ortega (Astrid Deetz), Willem Dafoe, and Monica Bellucci. Catherine O’Hara and Justin Theroux add their talents to the ensemble, while the ever-present Danny Elfman returns to compose the film’s score.

A Legacy Continues

The original, released in 1988, cemented itself as a cult classic. This sequel, penned by Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, and Seth Grahame-Smith, promises to honor the spirit of the original while introducing a new generation to the delightful chaos of Beetlejuice.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice slithers its way into theaters on September 6, 2024. Prepare for a hauntingly humorous adventure filled with familiar faces and a whole new generation of Deetzes ready to be spooked (and maybe a little bit delighted) by the one and only Beetlejuice.
