Analog Horror is on the rise, and along with it are games in the genre but unfortunately not many of them are available for all gamers as they tend to be more geared for PC players. That has changed with the horror analog game Home Safety Hotline now coming to console this month thanks to Night Signal Entertainment, Torture Star Video, and Puppet Combo!

Home Safety Hotline puts players in 1996 in the role of a new hire at Home Safety Hotline, a service where people call in with problems they’re experiencing in their homes, and players will have to determine what that issue is to help them. The calls started normal but quickly became more…paranormal.

Now, onto the game itself! Controls for Home Safety Hotline, they’re relatively easy to learn and you have options to keep the prompts on the screen as you play (which is a big help).

If you’re familiar with how computers looked like in 1996, then you’ll get kicked in the nostalgia by the art of your work screen. makes me wish I could play Ski Free again!

The game is voice acted quite well and comes in handy for you to complete your tasks correctly. The “Hold” music is quite catchy as well, better than the real-world ones.

The game’s artwork of depictions of the creatures you have to identify is awesome, I love the art depicting the Hobs and Pooka!

Gameplay-wise, You answer the call and with what information you get from the caller, you then have to check in the bestiary to figure out which issue/creature it is. It’s hard to tell if you give the right or wrong answer because it seems like no matter how accurate I feel I was, the caller has something bad happen to them, even though it can be comedic. The major downside to the game I noticed is that it’s pretty much a one-hit kind of game, meaning you can play through the whole thing in a couple of hours, and that’s it.

Overall, Home Safety Hotline is a fun play and takes call-center horror in a new direction. Just wish it was longer or had more replayability. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 8.5/10.

Home Safety Hotline will be calling you on September 20th for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
