While fans eagerly await news on the next Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, the iconic horror franchise is bringing its terrifying animatronic nightmare straight into the real world. According to a report from Variety, the American Dream entertainment and retail center in East Rutherford, New Jersey, is set to open a fully operational Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza location in 2027. Created in close partnership with franchise creator Scott Cawthon’s ScottGames, the quick-service restaurant promises to turn the video game’s murderous pizzeria into a living, breathing, cheese-topped reality.

Animatronic Stage Shows, Arcade Games, and Pizza

Designed as a functional reimagining of the game’s core location, the immersive venue will feature classic arcade games alongside two full-scale animatronic stage performances. Guests can catch live sets from Freddy and the Fazbear Band or visit Pirate Cove to see Foxy the Pirate in action. American Dream’s Atreyu Alcantar emphasized that authenticity is the top priority, noting that the team isn’t just building a set that resembles the game—they are building the actual restaurant. The goal is to deliver authentic animatronics, great food, and an environment that immerses die-hard fans while welcoming brave newcomers.

From Indie Game Phenomenon to Real-World Attraction

What started in 2014 as an indie point-and-click video game by Scott Cawthon has exploded into a global multimedia empire spanning games, novels, graphic novels, and blockbuster films. At the center of the lore is Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a family restaurant where furry, singing animatronics tend to wander around at night with murder on their minds.

The first Five Nights at Freddy’s movie became one of Blumhouse’s highest-grossing films of all time, proving the massive appetite for the haunted pizzeria’s deadly lore. Building on that colossal success, Universal Pictures and Blumhouse are prepping Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, set to bring even more iconic animatronic threats like the Toy Animatronics and The Puppet to theaters. While parents visiting the New Jersey location in 2027 might just be looking for a quick pizza slice and some arcade games, longtime fans know to keep one eye on the stage—and maybe pack a flashlight just in case.
