In celebration of the film’s 40th anniversary, Close Encounters of the Third Kind will be re-released this Friday in Select AMC theaters.
Close Encounters of the Third Kind was directed by the legendary Steven Spielberg, and it was originally released in November 1977. The film was a hit, grossing $120 million domestically and $300 million worldwide.
The film was also nominated for 8 Oscars, ultimately winning for best cinematography. Close Encounters of the Third Kind stars Richard Dreyfuss, Francois Truffaut and Teri Garr.
Close Encounters of the Third Kind looked amazing on the big screen, but you’d only know that if are 40 or older. This Friday, a younger generation of fans will have the opportunity to experience the cinematic spectacle first hand.
