What is Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter? It’s a little bit Mad Max, a little bit Terminator and yes, even a little bit Star Wars. It’s a tale that takes place in the distant future, where artificial intelligence seeks to overthrow civilization not only here on Earth, but on other worlds as well.
The film was written and directed by Niel Johnson, and features Tracey Birdsall as Sienna. Also featured is a supporting cast that includes William Kircher (The Hobbit), Daz Crawford (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Stephen Manley (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock), and Marilyn Ghiggliotti (CLERKS).
Rogue Warrior very recently garnered several accolades at the Malibu West International Film Awards. Among those were Best Actress (Birdsall), Best Director (Johnson), Sound Design (Vic Kaspar and Dirk Kloiber) and the Unique Vision award (Johnson).
On the heels of these festival wins comes good news concerning the film’s release. Sony Pictures has signed on to distribute the film (hopefully very early) in 2017. But wait, that’s not all…there’s also a spin off television series that’s said to be in the works.
So for everyone who is eagerly anticipating this film, keep your eyes peeled and your ears open for future news about Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter’s final release date as well as further developments on the spin-off series.
