Opening pretty zen. Eli broke into a house and is making breakfast, Noah and Audry going for breakfast while discussing whether or not they should tell Emma about Audry’s bringing Piper (the first killer) to Lakewood and Emma gets questioned by the police after last episodes discovery that Riley Morra’s (she’s been dead since season 1) emails to Emma’s dad were coming from Emma’s laptop. So tying the more earlier episodes of the season to to this one, Emma revealed she went to an abandoned barn (of which Jake was being murdered at in a different part of the property) and found newspaper clippings of herself along with a creepy black shadow of man standing in the doorway. As the sheriff made it to the barn, he found yet another picture of Emma but this time with an adult standing behind her with his face scratched out. Could Emma’s dad be Brandon James?

During all of this, Emma has a fight with Kieran because last episode he went to the police and revealed everything Emma confided into him about her recent run-ups with the killer. Emma in a huff makes it to work only for Eli to reveal to her Keiran told on her because he was scared. Eli then in-turn revealed a piece of Keiran’s backstory, if you remember the series premiere episode had Kieran reveal, his mom and stepdad died in a car crash and he was now staying with his real dad. Now it’s being revealed Keiran had a big fight with his stepdad before his death and blames himself for his and mom’s death and on top of that, also lost his real dad due to Lakewood’s massacre. So that’s why he was so protective over Emma.

So now Noah and Zoe rekindle their dimming flame of romance down at the shore where Zoe then reveals to Noah she had issues during last season’s massacre and slightly dropped of school to focus on therapy. She described what lead up to her freak out was the depressing truth she was alone, no friends, nothing to be a part of, this lead her to do something unthinkable [not revealed] which then lead her to be in therapy for a year. I’m getting killer vibes from all of this. Not that I’m an ass-hole, but judging from SCREAM’s formula [which cuz’ I’m a film geek I know now] the one that seems so personable and broken and making it seem to want to be fixed is usually the killer. Shall I reiterate that cause and effect of Billy from Scream 1 or Mickey from Scream 2? That’s just the vibe from Zoe I’m getting here.

So remember I told you last episode that Brooke went full Regina George/psycho on Mr. Branson and then MTV’s Ghost-Face came in and chopped his hand off and branded his face? Well Brooke still thinks he’s in the hotel room waiting for her weak and knowing his lesson not to mess with her [im guessing that was her agenda]. So she took Audry with her to the hotel room to find an empty bed clean as a freakin’ whistle with Branson gone. As the two sit and ponder what the hell is going to happen next, a text massage comes in on Brooke’s phone form Branson. He tells her to meet him at his office “to apologize or he’s turning her in”. All which isn’t concidental at all because a camera was positioned in the room the entire time watching them.

image

So as Brooke and Audry devise a plan to meet Branson, Ms. Lang makes a trip over to Emma’s work to try and get in another therapy session. Due to Emma’s denying of her, Lang returns back to her office to add her entire conversation with Emma to her file, while skimming threw her portfolio full of info on The Lakewood 6. I guess with a psycho killer on the lose, a file of everyone’s mental state makes sense. …Right?

image

So Lang gets a phone call by MTV’s Ghost-Face that directs her to go outside her office. As she exits, the Killer makes its way into her office to steal her file then makes it into the hall where he/she then attacks her. Revealing to Ms. Lang he/she be-handed her lover while also revealing to her she was next. Throwing Lang against the wall the Killer then chased Lang down the hall where she was then met by a bloody Branson. As the Killer seemingly finished Branson off with a swift but deadly stabbing he/she chased Lang up the stairs where he/she then flung her from the landing and let a pool of blood run from her injured body. As Ghost-Face was about to finish Lang off once and for all, the Janitor showed up and the Killer escaped without being caught.

So now Audry and Brooke show up at the school and are ready to confront Branson. As Audry persuades Brooke that she needs to go in first for safety reasons and makes it inside, she’s greeted by a bloody-handed Janitor thinking she’s the paramedic. We now find Audry standing over an unconscious [seemingly dead] bloody Ms. Lang.

During this Noah has Zoe over to his house for a “study session”. As he records Zoe’s first segment for his podcast, he leaves Zoe alone for him to jack some Black Berry Brandy from his mom’s stash. As Zoe is alone, she uncovers the file dubbed “Audry wav” when clicked she discovers a recording of Audry’s confession ringing in her ears, truth, curiosity and jealousy. Zoe then emails herself the file, God knowing what’s she’s going to do with it. Perhaps there is three killers. Perhaps Zoe is in on whole thing that’s why she was in class last semester. Perhaps she’s going to send Audry the recording in text form and shake her up while pin-pointing the finger at Noah. I can’t wait to see what happens! So as Noah returns, him and Zoe start to have their first sexual experience together [very awkwardly typing that last sentence thank you]. As they’re in between, Audry barges in, for Zoe to get uncomfortable enough to leave, for Audry to then reveal the near death of Ms. Lang.

image

During this Emma’s mom Maggie meets up with the sheriff to rectify who the hell was in this photo with Emma [pictured above]. Maggie with no answers, makes me piece together Emma’s dad was the guy. It makes sense, sort of. After Brandon’s death, Maggie went with her now ex, Kevin, leaving Piper pissed at her mom for starting a new life with a new guy and leaving her behind. In-turn Piper keyed Kevin’s face out of the picture out of aggravation and then exacted her revenge on her mother and everybody she loved. I’m surprised Emma’s dad isn’t next.

While that mystery unfolded, Emma and Eli go on an adventure to Wren Lake Estates, A.K.A the place the Killer attacked and killed Jake. As they find and walk through an abandon model house on the property, they set up a picnic inside the living room of the home and begin to converse their relationship with Kieran. Unknowing of Ghost-Face’s stash of bodies left in the bathtub less than a couple of feet from them. As Eli’s advances on Emma and their convo about them gets cut short, the sound of the fire alarm, alerts them to find a massive fire set in one of the rooms and the home closing in on them. Flames escaping from the walls, spitting at Emma as if to drag her in. The two found an exit through the garage and made it out alive. On flameless ground Eli then reveals to Emma his police record and if the cops knew about their being there, he and her would be charged with breaking and entering as well as setting fire to the estate. As Eli manages to convince Emma to keep mum of the mouth on this incident they make it out guilty but un-caught. But who knows how long Emma could keep her mouth shut when a possible connection to her can still stand inside the home along with the Killer’s stash. Will Emma be questioned as the killer next episode? According to the teaser, Kieran is next on the cutting room floor! Will he survive?
