When the X-Files revival ended fans were left begging for more and it seems Fox has listened. Thursday Fox announced the we will get a 10-episode eleventh season! This is not a drill people!
The series’ creator Chris Carter will serve as executive producer for season eleven. And what would The X-Files be without Mulder and Scully? Both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have signed on to star.
“Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators — these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why The X-Files has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide,” David Madden, President of Fox Broadcasting Company, said via a statement. “Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files.”
The new season will begin filming this summer and premiere sometime in late 2017 or early 2018. The image bellow was released as part of the statement issued.
