Deadline is reporting that Blumhouse is behind a new series adaptation of King’s best seller Later, which was released in 2021. The cast for the limited series already includes Lucy Liu (Kill Bill) and “True Blood’s” Raelle Tucker who also created the series and wrote the first season. The story centers on “The son of a struggling single mother, Jamie Conklin just wants an ordinary childhood. But Jamie is no ordinary child. The filmmaking duo of Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill, who brought us Sinister and Doctor Strange, is back with The Black Phone, the Blumhouse adaptation of Joe Hill’s short story. Unfortunately, we are going to have to wait a bit longer to see it. Originally set to open in theaters this January, the movie now has a new February release date. Katey Segal Starring In Blumhouse & Epix’s ‘Tattered Hearts’

Back in March, we reported that Blumhouse and EPIX have joined forces for eight original horror-thrillers, several, including House on the Bayou, American Refugee, and Unhuman have already been announced, today the film Tattered Hearts has joined the list. THR is reporting that Katey Sagal, known for her roles in “Married With Children” and “Sons of Anarchy,” will lead the cast. “The movie will follow an up-and-coming country music duo who seek out the secluded mansion of their idol, Harper Dutch (Sagal). What starts out as a friendly visit devolves into a twisted series of horrors that force the friends to confront the lengths they’ll go to in order to realize their dreams.” Brea Grant (12 Hour Shift) will direct from the script penned by Rachel Koller Croft. Tattered Hearts is expected to premiere on Epix sometime in 2022.

Halloween’s David Gordon Green In Talks To Direct Blumhouse’s Reboot Of ‘The Exorcist’

When it comes to horror, one movie stands out as not only one of the most important but also the most frightening, William Friedkin’s The Exorcist. While it has had sequels and series adaptations nothing has quite matched in nearly 50 years. But Blumhouse has set out to change that with a reboot (*insert head shake). David Gordon Green (Halloween, Halloween Kills) is reportedly in talks to direct the movie produced by Blumhouse and Morgan Creek. Jason Blum made a comment during an interview with Den of Geek, describing that the movie will be like the situation between the original Halloween and Green’s 2018 version. [It’s] going to be like David’s Halloween sequel,” Blum told the site. “I think it’s going to pleasantly surprise all the skeptics out there. The Firestarter reboot is beginning to take shape. Today, we’ve learned via a press release that Sydney Lemmon (Helstrom, Succession, Fear of the Walking Dead) has joined the cast to play Vicky. Lemmon joins previously announced actors Zac Efron (Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, The Greatest Showman), Michael Greyeyes (Wild Indian, Rutherford Falls, True Detective), Gloria Reuben (City on a Hill, Mr. Robot), and Ryan Kiera Armstrong (“American Horror Story”, The Tomorrow War, It: Chapter II). Blumhouse and Epix Announce The Cast For The Marcus Dunstan Directed Horror ‘Unhuman’

EPIX® and Blumhouse have just announced the lead cast member of the upcoming horror film Unhuman, including two-time Emmy nominated actress Brianne Tju (Light As a Feather, I Know What You Did Last Summer), Benjamin Wadsworth (Your Honor), Uriah Shelton (Freaky), and Ali Gallo (The Carpool). Unhuman centers on “a group of high school students. After years of development, Blumhouse’s Firestarter has finally begun production, but that’s not the only Stephen King project they are working on. Now, they’ve officially announced they are remaking Stephen King‘s classic killer car movie, Christine.
