Dr. Phibes is getting a new film. The actor to fill the role of the deranged doctor, played by legendary actor Vincent Price, is non other than Malcolm McDowell. William Goldsten, the franchise’s creator, is developing the new movie, which is just entering preproduction.
The movie begins in 1925. Doctors have been dying in strange and mysterious ways. Years before the rash of deaths, Dr. Phibes was in route to his sick wife’s side, only to be involved in a car accident. Dr. Phibes was thought to have died in the accident but some how the severely burned man survived, only to find out his wife had passed on the operating table. He retreats into seclusion, there he plans his revenge against the nine doctors he blames for her death.
