Filming for ‘The Conjuring 2’ is finally underway. James Wan is directing the film, which is said to be loosely based on true events. Wan is the director behind some of the most popular horror films of the past decade, including ‘The Conjuring’, ‘Insidious 1 and 2 ‘and ‘Saw’. David Johnson, who wrote ‘Wrath of the Titans’ and serves as a writer for ‘The Walking Dead’, penned the rewrite of the script for ‘The Conjuring 2’.
Both Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson will be returning to play their roles of Loraine and Ed Warren, the world’s most reknowned experts in the world of the paranormal.
‘The Conjuring 2’ has already entered preproduction and is in the process of casting. The paranormal thriller, based on the (supposedly) true events of the “Enfield Poltergeist”, which was investigated by many paranormal specialists, including the Warrens. The haunting took place in Enfield, England, where poltergeist activity and even possession, plagued a family.
‘The Conjuring 2’ is set to be released in theaters on June 10, 2016.
