Horror shows, like Supernatural, Grimm, The Walking Dead and The Strain, have been big money makers for networks lately. NBC will be adding a new show, ‘Monstropolis’, to their line up after winning a bidding war . ‘Monstropolis’ will be written by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, the writers who penned ‘Saw VI’ and ‘Saw 5’ and who also wrote the upcoming Michael Myers movie, ‘Halloween Returns’. I doubt there is any connection, but Monstropolis is also the name of the city where monsters live, in the animated movie ‘Monsters Inc.’
In ‘Monstropolis’, monsters are very real and are living beside humans in New Manhattan aka ‘Monstropolis’. When someone begins killing the city’s monsters it’s up to a disgraced detective to catch the serial killer.
The show is still in early pre-production. There is no word at this time who will star in ‘Monstropolis’. Stay tuned for more details.
