Production of season three of the critically acclaimed series Penny Dreadful has begun. News has started to trickle in about new cast members, including  American Horror Story actress Patti LuPone who played the “Cut Wife” last season, will return as Dr. Seward, an American therapist that sees Vanessa (Eva Green) as a patient. This season Dr. Henry Jeckyll, played by Shazad Latif, will join the cast. Award winning actor Christian Camargo (Dexter) will play the role of Zoologist Dr. Alexander Sweet. Last season Vanessa, Ethan, Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton), Dr. Frankenstein (Henry Treadaway) and Sembene (Danny Sapani) went up against a trio of witches who had Sir Malcolm under their spell and targeted Vanessa. Unfortunately Sembene was killed when Ethan transformed into a werewolf, but the rest of the group made it out alive. In the finale Lily (Billie Piper), made the choice to stay with Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney), breaking Dr. Frankenstein’s heart.  Dr. Frankenstein’s creature (Rory Kinnear) was trapped by the family who owns the wax works he works for with the intention of using him in a freak show, of course he breaks out and kills the family.

‘Penny Dreadful’ will return in 2016. ‘Penny Dreadful is dark, elegant, bloody and absolutely fantastic. John Logan, the series’ creator and writer does an amazing job. The Showtime series and it’s cast have won nine Emmys and received eighteen other Emmy nominations in just two seasons. I absolutely love ‘Penny Dreadful and look forward to season three.
