There is currently a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the first educational nonprofit museum of it’s kind, The Hollywood Horror Museum. The museum would educate the public on the legacy of horror films, TV, makeup, art, and literature. The museum’s board includes a list of who’s who in horror, Clive Barker, Joe Dante, Tom Holland, Sean S. Cunningham, Victoria Price, Mick Garris, Jennifer Lynch, Tim Lucas, Jen and Sylvia Soska and Sara Karioff.

“In March of 2015, when our Hollywood Science Fiction Museum was preparing for it’s 2016 exhibit, many Sci-Fi/Horror film props were offered to us including Alien and John Carpenter’s The Thing. It became apparent these gory props had no place in a science fiction museum that taught NASA space and real science through sci-fi, but since there is no nonprofit educational Horror Museum anywhere in the world that teaches filmmaking, special effects, makeup and the history of horror in films, TV, art and literature, we decided to create our own.” – Hollywoodscifi.org

Permanent exhibits will include props and displays from: Classic Monsters, Creatures, Zombies, Ghosts, Vampires, Mummies, Werewolves, Italian Horror, Psychological Horror, Alfred Hitchcock, Stephen King, The Art of Special Effects and the Gallery of Nightmares. Other features of the museum include makeup classes from artists from the top Hollywood makeup schools and professionals teaching the art of special effects, just to name a few.

The perks for the Kickstarter include T-Shirts, hats, bags, decals, Funko Pop figures and prints signed by the museum’s entire board of horror legends. Don’t miss the chance to be part of the first educational Horror Museum in the world.
