It’s not actually doomed. I just really, really wanted to make that pun.

In fact, it’s quite the opposite of doomed. After years of silence and turmoil about the game, it has finally started to poke it’s head out of the ground. All thanks to Bethesda Softworks for jumping in to publish it.

DOOM

A trailer was released at this years E3, and while no official release date has been set, we should see it within the first half of 2016. It’s still definitely a Doom game, complete with hellspawn, devastating weaponry and oodles of buckets of blood. And with today’s tech, we get badder hellspawn, bigger weapons and that satisfying sound of blood spatter drenching the walls of the UAC facilities.

DOOM3

DOOM1

Those of you that have played Doom since the beginning will be glad to hear they are moving forward with a more fast paced shooting game, much like the original. Where Doom3 had us hiding around corners, looking out for the creatures that have taken over the station, DOOM will throw us into the chaos and won’t relent until you or your enemies lay in a puddle of entrails. And when I say throw, I almost literally mean it. From what I can tell from the trailer, you are almost on a nonstop warpath to reach your objective, and now have more abilities to get it done. like what you ask? How about actualy sprinting and jumping? Platforming? The ability to drop down on to a demon an STOMP HIS FREAKING SKULL. Good Gods yes please.

We are also going to be getting some revamps to some of our favourite baddies, like the Revenant, and the motherflippin’ Cyberdemon.

Yeah, this guy:

DOOM6

Looks like this now:

DOOM5

Oh boy!

Look out for this blood filled reboot on PC, PS4 and XBOne in the new year. I know I will be.
