New York Times bestselling author Jonathan Maberry made an exciting announcement earlier today on Facebook. He informed fans that his next project will be co-written with George A. Romero, the father of the modern zombie genre.

The title of the upcoming novel will be Horror of the Living Dead. The anthology, will be filled with original stories set in the 48 hours surrounding the events of Romero’s 1968 film Night of the Living Dead. John Russo, who co-wrote Night of the Living Dead, will pen one of the tales featured in Horror of the Living Dead along with pieces written by Brad Thor, Chuck Wendig, Brian Keene, David Wellington, Jay Bonansinga, Isaac Marion, Joe Lansdale, Mira Grant, Joe McKinney, Keith R.A. DeCandido, Mike Carey, Brandon and Neal Shuterman and Sanda and Ryan Brown .

Horror of the Living Dead should be on shelves in early 2017.
