Margin Films has summoned the first trailer for Quentin Lee’s The Unbidden. Lee (White Fog) directed from the script penned by Narhee Ahh (Purity).
The Unbidden follows four longtime friends as they come together in hopes that a seance will protect them from a dark entity that will not stop until one of them is dead. Tamlyn Tomita (Teen Wolf), Julia Nickson (Half-Life), Amy Hill (50 First Dates) and Elizaneth Sung (Memoirs of a Geisha) star as the friends desperate to save one of their own. Michelle Krusiec, Akemi Look, Kimberly-Rose Wolter, Karin Anna Cheugn, Hayden Szeto and Jason Yee also star in this supernatural thriller.
“If you’re a fan of the horror, psychological thriller, family melodrama or Asian American film genres, you’re in for a treat, not a trick.” Lee expressed. “Our intention was to create a wildly original independent feature with an all Asian-American cast that aims to not only entertain with shocks and thrills, but bring on the debate about difficult emotional issues. This is a female-driven film that deals with domestic violence and the morality of retribution.”
Lauren Lee’s dreams are plagued by a the ghost of a tortured, bloodied man. She tries to forget the apperition’s warnings by hosting a dinner with her best friends. In the midst of a seance that Rachel believes will rid her of the ghost, a man (Szeto) brandishing a gun interrupts. While holding the women hostage he demands to know the whereabouts of his missing father.
The Unbidden, produced by Charles Lei, Stanley Yung and Lee, will premier at film festivals this spring. In the mean time check out the trailer.
