One of the things that made Jaws great was it’s realism. It truly made you think before you dipped your toes in the ocean again. Even though a lot of shark movies have come out over the past few years, they were all silly CGI jokes, like Sharnado. Now, a new film is looking to bring back the emotions that Jaws captured so flawlessly.
Jaume Coliet-Serra’s new film The Shallows stars Blake Lively as an injured surfer, stranded on an islet. One thing is keeping her from swimming to shore, a huge Great White circling the islet.
The Shallows is set to be released on June 24 by Sony Pictures, right in the middle of beach season.
