Fans of Sons of Anarchy will be excited to learn that its director, Kurt Sutter, is teaming up with comic book writer Caitlin Kittredge on a new brutal supernatural series titled Lucas Stand. The series was announced this past weekend at WonderCon. USA Today revealed a few extra details.
The series centers on a Special Ops soldier who attempts to commit suicide after returning home and finding himself unable to integrate back into society. The angel Gabriel saves him and offers him a deal: If he becomes an avenger for heaven and tracks down escaped demons from Hell, he will be saved from damnation. For every demon he kills one of his own sins will be forgiven.
“There’s all these crazy demons and amazing implements of death and [I’m] able to run with it without worrying… ‘How the [expletive] are we going to do this?’ ” Sutter said. “So that’s been very liberating.”
The first issue of Lucas Stand will arrive in stores June 1 from Boom! Studio, with artwork by Jesus Hervas.
