Filming is underway for director Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant in Sydney, Australia. Michael Fassbender, one of the stars of the film, spoke with Australian newspaper Herald Sun about the project, Dread Central has pointed out. During the conversation with the paper he teased that Covenant’s style is close to that of the original Star Wars.
Fassbender is in Sydney, where he’s filming Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant, the sci-fi sequel to Pormetheus,” the paper wrote. “He’s a big wrap for Scott’s huge physical sets, which he describes as mixing cutting-edge NASA-like technology with an old-school element where things look battered, like the original Star Wars.”
Fassbender also teased that his character David, an android, will be even creepier than before. The film’s plot is still being closely guarded, but it has been reported that Covenant follows the crew of a ship, bound for a remote planet believed to be a paradise, but instead is a dark, dangerous world, whose only inhabitant is David, the only survivor of the Prometheus expedition.
Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Benjamin Rigby, Danny McBride, Demian Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Callie Henandez and Carmen Ejogo co-star along side Fassbender in Alien: Covenatn, set to land in theaters on August 4, 2017.
