A new trailer for Robert Kirkman’s upcoming series Outcast has just been unveiled and it’s different from any trailer you have ever seen before, it’s interactive. The video is controlled by the movement of your eyes and the way that you blink. I will be honest, it is an intense experience that might cause a few of you to have nightmares.
From the Press Release:
The trailer, created by Campfire, uses 3D audio technology and eye-tracking software to create an immersive experience that uses viewers’ behavior – in this case, opening and closing their eyes – to explore the premise of the show and interact with the horror of “Outcast” firsthand. A webcam and headphones are recommended to achieve the maximum viewing experience but if a webcam isn’t available viewers will be prompted to use the space bar as a substitute.
You can explore the interactive trailer HERE.
Outcast, directed by Adam Wingard (You’re Next), is set to premiere on Cinemax on June 3rd and is based on Kirkman’s graphic novel by the same name.
Outcast follows Kyle Barnes, played by Patrick Fugit, a young man who has been plagued by possession all his life. Kyle, with the help of Reverand Anderson (Philip Glenister), a priest with demons of his own, sets out to find answers. Along the way he encounters people who share the same affliction. He uncovers a strange connection with a possessed 8-year-old boy that leads to answers about his past. While on his quest he will discover something that could not only change his fate, but the fate of the world.
Pete Burris (Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2) co-stars along side Fugit, Lacy Camp (Red Band Society), Julia Crockett (The Absence), Philip Glenister (Demons) Melinda McGraw (Mad Men), David Denman (13 Hours), Grace Zabriskie (The Killing), Cathrine Dent (The Shield), Brent Spiner (Independence Day) and The Americans actor Lee Tergesen.
Don’t want to wait for June 3rd? No problem, we just happen to have the full season premiere, titled A Darkness Surrounds Him, here for you to enjoy right now.
