It’s almost time for our favorite series to return, and at the top our list of must-see shows is The Strain, which has its season 3 premiere this August.
Today, the first trailer for season 3 has been unleashed. It’s filled with action, as our favorite characters fight for survival against hordes of strigoi, vampire creatures led by “The Master”. In the trailer we see that the strigoi are everywhere and are continuing to spread at a mind-blowing rate. Police and military forces are doing their best to keep order, but are failing. Eph and the group may be the city’s only hope.
The series, based on Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan’s vampire graphic novel series by the same name, stars Corey Stoll, Kevin Durand, David Bradley, Mia Maestro, Richard Sammel, Miguel Gomez, Jonathan Hyde, Max Charles, Natalie Brown and Ruta Gedmintas.
The Strain follows a group of survivors banded together in hopes of not only surviving, but preventing the strigoi and their Master from taking over what is left of New York City, then the world. Eph (Stoll) is determined to create a cure for the virus that is turning New Yorkers into blood-thirsty creatures, including his ex wife Kelly (Brown), all while trying to keep his son Zach (Charles) in line. Abraham Setrakian (Bradley) has been waiting for so long to have his revenge on the Master, who met during his stay in a Nazi concentration camp. Fet (Durand) is the muscle of the group, the guide and a general badass. He’s the kind of man we all want on our side. Dutch (Gedmintas) fights at Fet’s side, though her heart longs to be in two places at once. If they can kill the Master, the battle will be won, if not all hope is lost.
