The first trailer has arrived for Alexandre Aja’s (Horns, The Hills Have Eyes) new supernatural thriller, The 9th Life of Louis Drax, which is set to be released this September. The trailer for the film, based on the best-selling novel by Liz Jensen of the same name and adapted by writer Max Minghella, finds a young boy in a coma after a terrible accident. As his family searches for answers terrible secrets are uncovered.
The 9th Life of Louis Drax stars Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey), Sarah Gadon (Dracula Untold), Oliver Platt (X-Men:First Class, Flatliners) , Molly Parker (Dexter, The Whicker Man), Barbara Hershey (Once Upon a Time), Terry Chen (Continuum) and Aiden Longworth (The Unseen) as young Louis Drax.
After surviving eight near-death accidents throughout his young life, Louis Drax (Longworth) plunges off a steep cliff on his ninth birthday. He stuns doctors when he is revived after being dead for two hours. The boy now remains in a coma. While police investigate the cause of Louis’ near-fatal fall and the whereabouts of his father Peter (Paul), neurologist Dr. Allan Pascal (Dornan) uses unorthodox techniques to try to tap into the boy’s unconscious mind. But the deeper and deeper he is drawn into the mystery the doctor finds himself falling in love with Natalie (Gadon), Louis’ mother. As new clues emerge about the case, a shocking revelation changes the fate of Louis Drax and everyone around him.
The 9th Life of Louis Drax is set to be released on September 2, 2016 from Lionsgate.
