Even though FX is still keeping this season’s theme of American Horror Story under wraps, we can report today that the premiere date for season 6 has been set for Wednesday, September 14th.
Last week a teaser poster revealed a mysterious symbol that no one can make heads or tales of. But isn’t that part of the charm of AHS?
Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Finn Wittrock, Denis O’Hare, Kathy Bates, Cheyenne Jackson and series regular Sarah Paulson will be returning as cast members for season 6.
What can we expect to see this season? During PaleyFest (2016) Ryan Murphy, the show’s creator, confirmed that children will be involved with this season’s story line. He has also made the statement that this season will be “set in the present with echoes of the past.” This is not the first time children have been involved with the series’ story lines. They have been there in every season, but they were more prominent in season 5 than at any other time. With the Countess’ pale children, one being the detective’s missing son. There has been rumor that this season will also include the legend of “The Slender Man”, though it has not yet been confirmed.
So far, American Horror Story has taken us to Murder House where we met ghosts, an Asylum where patients fell victim to experiments and aliens, a witch’s Coven, a Freak Show, and a Hotel filled with vampires, ghosts and killers. I can’t wait to see where season 6 takes us.
