I want to start this off with a bombshell! Well sort of. Well not so much. Ok well it’s one for TWD fans. Melissa McBride wasn’t at SDCC! We’ll get to that in a minute. First off let’s revisit the new The Walking Dead’ season 7 trailer! As previously reported thanks to SDCC we now have our official teaser for AMC’s The Walking Dead’ season 7! The teaser didn’t reveal much though..sad face :(. It only reinstated the troubling truth that somebody got offed by Negan. During the teaser we watch as each of our favorite characters go face to face with Negan’s Lucille dubbed bob-wire wrapped bat, as they were at the end of last season.
I haven’t watched The Walking Dead’ season 6 in awhile so I’m rusty: Last season of The Walking Dead per wiki:
The first part of the season focuses on Rick and his group leading the Alexandria community through a series of crises including the threat of a large herd of walkers and an attack by dangerous scavengers known as the Wolves. The second half involves Rick and his companions discovering more survivor communities, making allies of the agrarian Hilltop colony and adversaries of the Saviors led by the ruthless Negan. This season adapts material from issues #78 to 100 of the comic and introduces notable comic characters such as Heath, Denise Cloyd, Dwight, Paul “Jesus” Rovia, Gregory, and Negan.
The new season of The Walking Dead returns this October and its reported to go Medieval! If you remember last season a man in a knight’s attire approached Morgan so that was the beginning I presume.
Following the story of Rick and Jesus venturing off to a Kingdom stationed at a high school to try and make piece with it’s king, King Ezekiel to hopefully create an alliance and combat Negan and the Saviors.
Fans currently are speculating who will portray King Ezekiel. The character according to TVLine will be “flamboyant, wise, nice and weird” he’s also described in different reports as a charismatic and kind leader. The role has been reported to call for a 40 year old African American man to portray him. King Ezekiel will be a recurring character and according to reports, has good chances of sticking around. According to MovieFone the character has a possibility of being part of TWD for years to come.
In other news, at SDCC Melissa McBride wasn’t there! Here’s what TWD producer Gale Ann Hurd had to say “The big thing really is our cast is so large right now that we couldn’t bring everyone. There’s a limitation at Comic-Con as to how many people can be onstage. So, we would love to have brought everyone, but we couldn’t”.
What’s this all mean for season 7? Stay tuned for more on The Walking Dead’ at The Fuel and for more scoop via SDCC!
