‘American Psycho’ writer Brent Easton Ellis is set to make his feature directorial debut with the new thriller series ‘The Deleted’. The series is said to be filled with murder, suspense, paranoia, and mystery.
‘The Deleted’ is being billed as a cult thriller that follows the disappearance of three seemingly unconnected people from Los Angeles, which triggers paranoia among a group of twenty somethings who escaped from a cult a few years back, according to THR.
The cast includes Nash Grier, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Cerny, Spencer Neville, Ian Nelson, Daniel Zovatto, Will Peltz, Todd Maurer, Eric Schettl, Jordan Ray Fox, Alissa Violet, and Julia Kelly.
In a recent interview with Larry King, Ellis spoke about the new series.
The Deleted is about a group of kids who escape a cult in Washington state and they are hiding in Los Angeles. The series starts three or four months after they make this escape from this cult. And they’re just now being rediscovered by this cult.” Ellis continued, “It’s a mystery, kind of a conspiracy thriller.”
The new 8-episode series will debut in early 2017 on the newly launched streaming service Fullscreen, which offers both television series, movies and original content, all for $4.99 a month (subscribe here). You will also be able to watch it on Direct TV.
