James Cameron will regain the rights to his favorite creation, ‘The Terminator’, in 2019, 35 years after the release of the original. He is already planning the next sequel that will hopefully bring a proper close the long-waged battle between Skynet and humans.

Cameron is currently in early talks with ‘Deadpool’ director Tim Miller to direct a reboot and conclusion of one of film’s greatest franchises, Deadline reports.

Cameron sold the rights to ‘Terminator’ to producer Gale Anne Hurd for a mere $1, with the stipulation that he could not be fired as director. All to make sure his film was made. He went on to write and direct ‘Terminator 2: Judgement Day’, then distanced himself from the franchise.

He has since gone on to write and direct a long list of fantastic films, such as ‘Aliens’, ‘The Abyss’, ‘Titanic’, ‘Avatar’, and is attached to direct four more ‘Avatar’ films.

We will update you when we know more.
