WWE Studios has an English remake in the works. The studio has acquired the English language remake rights to the Norwegian franchise ‘Cold Prey’, with the rights to purchase the new screenplay written by Casey La Scala. La Scala also wrote and directed ‘The Remaining’, as well as producing the upcoming film ‘Amityville: The Awakening’. ‘Cold Prey’ is considered one of the best and most successful Norwegian franchises in the genre.
Centering on a group of friends who decide to ski out of bounds are forced to to take shelter in an abandoned ski lodge when a storm hits. Soon they find themselves imprisoned in the lodge with a killer.
WWE Studios’ president Michael Luisi will oversea for the studio and will co-produce along with La Scala. Marius Haugan will serve as executive producer, Deadline reports.
