Lily Collias (Cape Fear) has been tapped to star in Ignore It, the upcoming feature film adaptation of creator Sam Evenson’s viral YouTube horror short, Variety reports.

Backed by Anton and Temple Hill Entertainment, the film is a powerhouse production from the team behind Smile. The creature feature marks Evenson’s feature directorial debut. It will expand on the claustrophobic nightmare concept that originally took the internet by storm.

The Lethal Rule of ‘The Woman’

The film centers on a family forced to survive alongside a terrifying entity known only as “The Woman.” The rules governing her presence are brutally straightforward. If you acknowledge her, look at her, or react to her presence, she will kill you. The only way to stay alive is to act as though she does not exist. No matter what horrifying acts she commits in plain sight.

The concept originated as a viral r/NoSleep Reddit story by Jeff Speziale titled You’re Going to Notice a Woman in Your Home, You Must Ignore Her. Evenson adapted it into an acclaimed seven-minute short on his Grimoire Horror YouTube channel in 2021.

Speziale and Evenson collaborated to flesh out the original premise into a full feature screenplay. Evenson brings a strong visual background to the project. He worked as a VFX artist on blockbuster productions such as Dune: Part Two and Thor: Love and Thunder.

Rising Talent and Expanding Nightmares

Collias joins the project in the lead role of Becca, earning early praise alongside Evenson from Temple Hill Entertainment. The studio lauded Evenson as a generational talent whose visual instincts push the envelope of cinematic language, delivering an immersive, spine-chilling experience.

Evenson is also attached to adapt his viral short MORA alongside NEON. However, Ignore It will move into production first, positioning the filmmaker for a major feature-length debut.
